With an average of 6,760 volunteer hours donated to the library each year, we have grown to be one of the most active organizations offering placements for volunteers.

We cooperate with area groups, organizations, at-risk youth, public and private schools, seniors, and community members for service projects.

Our focus is a positive, encouraging, and confidence-building atmosphere for people to complete required hours, enhance their education, build a resume, and learn critical employment skills as building blocks to improve their quality of life.volunteer

To become a volunteer, follow these simple steps:

1) Call, email, or complete the form on this page requesting information and an opportunity to meet with our volunteer coordinator. Please state whether you are completing hours for a specific requirement (court-referred, graduation requirements through your local public school, DHHS, Aspire, or the National ABLE Network, etc.);

2) A library staff person will contact you to set up an interview. This is an informal chat getting each other, an opportunity for us to learn about your volunteer interests, and to begin to discuss a schedule and what activities interest you most;

3) If you are a good fit for our volunteer program, you will begin at an agreed up on time and schedule;

4) Upon satisfactory completion of your hours, you receive a letter of thanks and a recommendation that you can use in job applications, college applications, or for other volunteer organizations.
